About the Political Ideology Test
The Political Ideology Test is designed to measure broad political values across two independent dimensions: economic and cultural orientation, and preferences for individual versus collective governance.
Methodology
The test consists of 40 principle-based statements. Respondents indicate their level of agreement using a five-point scale: Strongly Agree, Agree, Neutral, Disagree, and Strongly Disagree.
- X-Axis: Progressive ↔ Conservative
- Y-Axis: Collectivist ↔ Individualist
Question Weighting
Some statements measure core ideological values, while others capture more contextual preferences. Each question is internally weighted based on its diagnostic importance. These weights are not displayed to respondents in order to avoid influencing answers.
Interpretation of Results
Results are presented as a position on a two-dimensional coordinate plane. This position reflects general ideological tendencies rather than a complete political profile.
Scores should be interpreted as descriptive, not prescriptive. Individuals may hold views that cross traditional political categories.
Limitations
No political test can capture every belief or nuance. This test does not attempt to measure detailed policy preferences, party affiliation, voting behavior, or moral philosophy beyond ideology.
Data Collection & Privacy
Anonymous results may be collected to improve the accuracy and balance of the test over time. No personally identifying information is collected or stored.
